After the office move
With all the excitement of moving office and starting afresh, make sure you don't forget to complete your office relocation with these important tasks
It’s an exciting time for a company when they move into new offices and after all the stress of an office relocation it can be tempting to rest on our laurels. But there is still plenty to do after the office removals vans have left, so make sure you have your office moving-in plan in place.
Companies need to be up and running as quickly as possible following an office move in order to minimise business disruption. This will no doubt rely heavily on your IT equipment and business phone systems working as they should. Use the first day in your new office to troubleshoot any problems that may arise from staff testing and ask staff for feedback as quickly as possible. Your IT & Telecoms Consultants should still be on site with you at this point so they can rectify any issues.
Arrange an internal meeting with your Office Relocation Project Team to document a 'snagging list' of repairs and construction improvements that you can give to your Office fit-out company to put right. Use this meeting to ensure that all your office services are transferred, such as cleaning and waste collection. You will also need to make sure that all your office suppliers are aware that you have moved office and discuss whether it is necessary to find a closer service provider. Moving office is an ideal opportunity to review all your office suppliers and service vendors, and if you have relocated to a different city or location - this may prove necessary. Various licenses and insurance certificates may also need to be updated to change the address details to your new premises.
