Business cards – a key tool for company communication
Don’t forget to pass on your business card to clients when moving office
When relocating it is easy to forget the smaller details in a rush to fulfil the big picture of getting from one place to another, but one detail you shouldn’t overlook is informing clients that you are moving. It may sound obvious, but it is an important time to maintain communication links and the humble business card is a fail safe way of providing this information. More to the point, a business card can say a lot about your company and is a fantastic opportunity to rebrand where necessary.
So what is the role of a business card and how can it be a useful tool for your company? Time for a crash course in business card etiquette!
Typically, a business card will be branded with the company logo and will provide the individual bearer’s name, position within the company, street address, telephone and mobile numbers, fax number, email and website. Should any of these items be more important than the other (for example, a website address for an online company) then it is vital they are given prominence or even displace other details.
Visual design is absolutely essential and many companies spend big bucks on drafting in graphic designers to ensure their card offers not only information, but a message about who their company is. You need to consider whether you want to use a raised text, a specific style of font, a combination of colours and whether the cards will be coated to give them a certain finish.
There's plenty to consider and the Office Relocation Checklist offers more handy hints - get it right and your clients will be wow-ed!
