Client focus: Utopia fit-out
Help Moving Office get the news from Utopia on their latest successful fit-out project for GVA Grimley
When GVA Grimley took the opportunity to move offices to St Catherine's Court in Bristol they appointed Utopia as their fit-out specialists. As the first new office development to have emerged in Clifton for more than 20 years, their new office spaces needed to reflect this new transition.
Regional Senior Director of GVA Grimley, David Mace, explained their reasons for moving office: “We had outgrown our former offices and the expiry of our lease earlier this year gave us the ideal opportunity to look for a new long term home. St Catherine's Court is in a great location in the heart of Bristol and offered the high quality specifications and green credentials that match our company ethos. Vitally, it will also provide us with a space to accommodate future growth.”
The work was extensive and followed a corporate colour scheme with layouts defined by functionality and clear delineation of spaces for conducting business or creating relaxing staff breakout areas. Stepping into the reception area it is clear to see the influence of high design, with a statement gloss white reception desk fronting a warm yellow curved partition bearing the company logo on back lit polished stainless steel. Staff were also treated to a relaxing dining and seating area where they can take some breathing space away from their work stations.
Utopia's fit-out service was spearheaded by Tony Lawrance, an experienced interior designer, who said of the project, “We were delighted to have the opportunity to get involved in such a high profile project both for GVA and locally.” Adding, “GVA provided us with an extremely clear brief – to create a regional hub for the South West that met the practical needs of the firm but that also reflected both their brand proposition and communicated the personality of the region and the team based there.”
