Could wacky styles of office influence your fit-out?
Don’t be tied in to boring old cubicles – there’s a world of office space options that might be better suited to your business
If you think of your traditional office space, you’d probably come up with a relatively similar picture to anyone else: row after row of cubicles with desks facing one another or organised into banks. Many offices decide that this traditional approach to office arrangements works best for them and provides the most desk space in accordance to their floor space ratio.
However, if you are planning an office move, you might want to re-think your office design and re-imagine how you can best serve your office space and staff without necessarily spending any further money.
You might recall Google paving the way for revolutionary office space with their headquarters. They made meeting pods in the style of igloos, they allowed access between floors by fireman poles and a metal slide replaced the usual passenger lifts. Understandably, this is a pretty out-there solution and isn’t appropriate for 90 per cent of businesses around, but the sentiment of building an innovative work space that reflects the needs of employees is relevant to all businesses. If you can inject personality into your office fit-out designs then you have the power to reinforce your company message and ethos to staff and clients alike.
