Getting your New Office Design to Work Harder
How to create an office design that improves your business performance and efficiency at the same time.
Office Design & Fit-Out Company, in Leeds, Be Inspired, share their thoughts and tips on how to create an office design that provides maximum value and improves your business efficiency at the same time.
Office Design and workplaces have undergone considerable chance since the formal stuffy places of the 1950s. We are all familiar with terms such as “open plan”, “hot desking” and “flexible working” – even if we don’t practice them ourselves. Instant communication and connectivity to our businesses via improving mobile technology has meant that very few workers are chained to their desks. In fact studies have shown that over 50% of desks within a typical office environment may be empty at any one time.
So why are we rigidly retaining individual desks for each member of staff, using our most expensive overhead; the office as a “desk warehouse” whilst our staff spend their time seeking out that sacred meeting room? The answer of course is not to throw out all your desks just yet – but perhaps it is time to address the balance.
Of course, there is not a ‘one size fits all’ office design solution, each business is as unique as the individuals that work in it, and creating a workplace that provides the right facilities for your business needs takes a little time. It is important to understand how everyone in the business works, what they need to do their role effectively, who they do that with and where they work from. Perhaps some could share a desk, whilst others still need that permanent space where they can focus in a quite environment. It may even be possible for some staff to work more readily from home or from other locations.
Be Inspired will take the time to understand the needs of your business so that your new office design is flexible and adaptable, and will ensure your workspace is working hard for your business.
Why not take a little time of your day to think about your business and the way it works, could a little change in your office layout make a big difference? Contact Be Inspired and find out more.
