Is your office lease expiring in 2012? Yours and many others, according to research by London Commercial Property Agent, Jones Lang LaSalle. More than 14 m sq. ft. of office space in the UK is approaching an expiry or break clause in 2012.

The large amount of lease expiries in 2012, along with the shortage of available office stock to meet demand, may lead to "greater propensity to extend and restructure" office leases among businesses. 

Some of the larger organisations who are planning an office move and looking for new office space include new Prudential Regulatory Authority, Saatchi & Saatchi, and LinkedIn. However, these total just 775,000 sq ft and JLL warns that the take-up of office space across the UK will dip significantly below the 10-year average.
