Moving office to new premises  opens up many exciting opportunities for your business, but the best part of organising an office move is involving staff so that everyone has a bit of fun throughout the process. Because let's face it,  after all the hard work and planning in the run up to the office move,  everyone involved will need a bit of light relief amongst the stress of planning an office move. 

Here's some ideas to help make your office move fun:

  • Involve staff in the planning of your office move

Staff love to feel involved in a major project such as an office move, and there are many ways to make them feel important and valued; involve them in the design of the new office space plan, office design and colour scheme. Encourage friendly competitions amongst departments and offer silly prizes.

  • Make your Office Move Day a Team effort

When a business is moving office, there's always jobs to do for anyone who wants to be involved, particularly on the move day itself, no one should be wandering around feeling helpless and looking for things to do. Ask staff to help with refreshments for your office removals company and be on hand for any odd jobs.

  •  Make staff feel welcome in the new office

How about issuing a New Office Welcome Pack on staff desks for when they arrive containing any relevant information about the new office and its neighbouring facilities.  Why not spice it up and make it even more fun with a donut or something your staff can enjoy together as soon as they get to the new office. 

  • Praise and Thanks

Don't forget that an office move is a great opportunity to tell staff what a great job they're doing and thank them for all their hard work.
