Bringing together your office for the purpose of team building exercises might strike fear into the hearts of your more reserved members and it could be difficult to drum up enthusiasm or participation. There will be certain departments that will be part of your Office Relocation Project Team right from the start, but have you considered the possibility of incorporating team building tactics into your office moving day? Moving might sound like a stressful and tricky time where team building is the last thing on your agenda, but in actual fact it is an excellent opportunity to bring in aspects of team building so that your company stays focused for the office move and enthusiasm remains high throughout. 

Every company wants to start out on a high when they take up new offices and creating a buzz prior to moving office will allow your staff to sail through the stressful times with a positive attitude and a willingness to foster mutual support with their colleagues, thus helping to spread the load. The smaller tasks that won't be managed by either your project manager, your office removals company or your fit-out specialists can be delegated amongst different departments. It's a good idea to interchange staff members from different sectors in order to encourage integration, perhaps by picking moving buddies for each staff member or creating smaller teams from across the workforce. Choose staff names at random from a hat and put the assembled teams in charge of smaller moving tasks. 

If you so wish, elements of fun and competition can really inspire your staff to pull together and work better alongside one another. Even organising small tasks will promote communication, problem solving and leadership amongst your workforce and get your new move off on the right foot.
