Moving in: How to organise your new office
You’ve unpacked and you’re ready to settle in – it’s a great time to get organised!
So you’ve made it through the stress of your office move! Congratulations on your new office space! But sadly, you can’t quite put your feet up just yet. It’s time to get your office organised and ready to greet your clients again! Managing your schedule so that these smaller organisational tasks have time to be completed is an important part of managing a smooth office relocation.
Here are some organisational tips to get your office up and running efficiently:
Streamline office stationery supplies. Do you really need 14 blue biros when you can’t find a single black marker? Do a chuck out of unnecessary multiples and create a list of the items you’re in need of.
Encourage staff to keep personal mementos of importance but to clear out any junk that has accumulated over time which simply amounts to clutter. This will help to give everyone in the new office a fresh-start feeling.
Put everything in its rightful place from the outset. If it doesn’t have a legitimate home, it is unnecessary junk and you could probably do without it.
Archive your files and get rid of any outdated documents. Check how long you are required to keep each item for before it goes in the shredder.
Don’t forget to leave room for office comforts such as a chill-out area, pictures or plants that will liven the place up and serve a positive purpose in their new environment.
