Office Fit-Out Company, Structural Interiors: Case Study
Sheffield-based Office Fit-Out Company Structural Interiors, show their office design innovation and skill with this office fit-out case study.
Structural Interiors were appointed by Aquaculture on the design and fit-out of their new premises. From taking the initial brief, to design and product specification, Structural Interiors share each stage of the office design project.
The Brief
Aquaculture was refered to Structural Interiors by a property consultant, as they had out grown their original premises and were now looking to locate to two new build units at the prestigious parkway one development. So that they would be able to move and run their business economically, a substantial amount of design and build work was required.
The Solution
Aquaculture first thoughts were to occupy only one of the units but as business continued to grow it was felt that both units were needed to enable them to function efficiently as a company.
The first of these units was to be the main sales suite and to hold all the offices and general business facilities.
The internal space was maximized with the addition of a mezzanine floor, which was then partitioned off to form cellular offices, a staff area and a client presentation room. Each room had double glazing, integral blinds and air-conditioning. The front part of the mezzanine floor had a number of shelving bays to hold small amounts of stock, below the mezzanine floor is another small storage area and the sales back office. This then leads out to the shop area with its bespoke counter and shop display shelving. To the far side of this area we installed a flight of stairs to lead the customer up to the customer lounge and waiting area.
To the left of the sales area are large double doors which lead out into the custom built glass house, this area allows the customer to see the products working.
The second unit has been turned into the main warehouse with large custom specified racking and stock storage facilities. This part of the unit also contains a research and development area with its own purpose built laboratory and associated equipment.
During the refurbishment a specialist security and fire alarm system was fitted to both of these units.
