To ensure the ongoing success of your business during an office move, and avoid any interruption to staff productivity, it is important that you adhere to these Office Move Guidelines.  They outline the approximate timeframes you should be working to in order to execute a smooth office move. It assumes that you have already found your new office space and the office design project is already well underway.

4-6 months before the office move

Find Office Removal Companies in your area and contact them for an office removals quote. Interview and appoint the most appropriate Office Removal Company that you feel is right to carry out your office move, then confirm your moving date with them.

2-4 months before the office move

Plan your IT Relocation by inventorying all your IT and communication equipment. Decide what needs replacing or upgrading and discuss the logistics of your IT relocation with an IT & Telecoms Company. Make sure all documents and files are in a secure location and backup anything on your computers. You may need to review your telephone systems so your business can operate even more efficiently in the new office.

1-2 months before the office move

Assign certain tasks to staff so they feel involved in the office move project.  This might include a packing schedule, how you are going to communicate the office move to clients and begin to organise a new office launch party. 

1 Week before the office move

This week will be the most chaotic period of your office move.  Involve your Office Removals Company as much as possible to ensure your packing schedule is on time and make sure everything is clearly market. Staff may need to reschedule meetings they have planned for the week of moving. It is at this time that you send out notifications to all your clients about your move and inform them of your new location.
