With so much to organise and think about when you move office, we thought we’d try to minimise the stress for you by listing some practical office move tips to help you along the way!

Office Move Tip 1

Back up all your Data, files, servers and firewalls.  You can’t afford to take the risk of having an IT data disaster when you move office. It’s simply not worth it.  Store the back-up at an offsite back up centre (or if you have a smaller business, leave it somewhere completely separate from the move).


Office Move Tip 2

Inform all your clients, suppliers, stakeholders and staff well in advance that you are moving. That way, your clients will be more understanding if they can’t get hold of you on the day of the office move.


Office Move Tip 3

Check your existing office lease to see what the exit terms are to leave your current office (it is vital that you know the timing, process & method of serving notice correctly).


Office Move Tip 4

Be clear about your new office space plan and decide where all your office furniture, IT equipment, phone systems (and phone lines) are going to be located.  If you agree this well in advance of the office move date, it will considerably help to avoid chaos and delay on the move day itself.
