Post-moving tips for your office relocation
Is your company relocating? Get some top tips for what to do after your moving day
Moving office can be a stress-packed time, when you're trying to cover all your bases and ensure that things are effectively wrapped up at your old office and ready to go in your new one. After you've managed to transfer everything across there are still a couple of tasks to check off. This brief guide will give you a few important pointers for the jobs that will still be on your list following the office move:
If your old offices have a street-level presence or if you are likely to have clients turning up at your previous address it is advisable to place a sign up in a prominent place notifying them of your new address and your telephone details. You may also wish to change your website and include a new map or directions page.
Make an inventory of your moved items. The main purpose of this is to find out whether you have any damages to report against your insurance as it is worth getting in touch with your removals company if any damage was sustained to your items.
Hold a meeting to check in with your staff following the move. This is especially important as it will allow you to open the floor and receive feedback. Are your staff content in their new work place? Does anything urgently need to be addressed? Is there anything that has been overlooked in the moving process? It is a great time to air any concerns, identify any problems and start thinking through solutions.
