Enlisting the help of a project manager to oversee your work place relocation is an incredibly important part of the moving process. Not only will it streamline your move and ensure it is executed in the best possible manner but it frees you up to continue with running your company. Rule number one of office moving is to delegate the tasks you can't complete yourself or do not have sufficient experience in. Far too many company seniors choose to take the move onto their own shoulders and this is the main fault that businesses fall prey to. A project manager will be in charge of the five key areas of your move: 

  • Initiating the move and getting the ball rolling. 
  • Planning the move and enlisting the help of designers and removals experts. 
  • Execution of the move and handling of the moving day. 
  • Monitoring the progress of the move. 
  • Ensuring the move is completed to a high standard. 

In addition to these skills, the project manager will act with authority and will take responsibility for the move, as ultimately the buck stops with them. As they will be managing on behalf of your company, they will need to communicate effectively with different departments and outsourced professionals. Sound experience of working to a budget is absolutely essential to the role. A good project manager will also be adept at organising their teams and building effective channels of communication between internal operations and external services.
