The first step in successfully planning an office relocation is to choose a ‘move’ champion. This is usually someone within your organisation who will be responsible for overseeing the entire office move project. They will be dedicating a lot of time to this role, so ensure they can handle this alongside their day-to-day responsibilities.  They should also be senior enough to make decisions and have the initiative and drive to execute the office move professionally, on time and within the set budget.

This should contain every task that needs to be completed, along with the expected time each task will take.  Anticipating what could go wrong and having a backup contingency plan could be the difference between minimum downtime and a major disruption to business.
