Packing your office up takes planning and the right materials to ensure that items are protected in transit, some of which can be done in advance of the office removals teams. Occasionally your office removals experts will deliver boxes in advance for you to pack smaller items, but it is always worthwhile leaving furniture and larger goods to the moving professionals.

There is a genuine risk of injury if proper safety measures aren’t adhered to when lifting heavy office items like desks and computers, so it is never worth risking your back for the sake of doing the job yourself. If you have time to pack some of the smaller items then make sure you make use of things like bubble wrap, packing tape, sticky labels and coloured pens.

Always hire an IT and telecoms specialist to pack expensive computer and telephone equipment to avoid damage. Office kitchen white goods may need some preparation a day or two in advance to drain and defrost any refrigerator compartments. Unless your removals company has offered removals of fixtures and fittings that you are taking with you to your new office, these will be the responsibility of your business.
