Choosing a Business Telecoms Service Provider
Business Telecom Companies
There are many telecom service providers who can sell you a business phone system (together with a so-called "competitive tariff") and it can be a difficult decision knowing which provider is better suited to your needs.
And because so many choices exist, knowing exactly what you need is the only way to ensure you find the right fit for your business.
If you are moving office and are looking to purchase a new business phone system or review your provider, it is important to make sure you have a plan and you’ve done your homework before selecting a provider.
Which Telecom Service Provider?
Here are 5 points to consider when choosing a telecom service provider:
1. Technical Support
Every business needs adequate technical support with their business phone systems. A good telecoms company should be able to install the system in your new office without too much disruption to your business, and they should also provide training to staff and ongoing technical support throughout the contract.
2. Contracts
There will be a contract relating to call tariffs, support and technical issues and you need to consider and negotiate the best contract for your needs. Also find out who (exactly) handles the account once you've signed the contract.
3. Experience
The Telecom Company needs to have experience in the industry similar to your own, understand your business and communication requirements before advising on a phone system. The importance of understanding your business is vital to offering you the correct telecom services.
4. Independence
Beware of those telecom companies who are tied to one particular manufacturer as they are unlikely to be able to offer unbiased comparisons. Make sure you get a choice of two or three suitable phone systems before making your selection.
5. Longevity
Avoid signing up for the "best deal" which goes out of date very quickly. Understand all the options that are available to you and make sure the phone system you choose can accommodate "add on" features in the future that you may wish to use. You will want your phone system to last between 3-5 years so getting one that is adaptable and scalable is essential.
