Efficiency rules when creating office space
How to maximise your Office Space
When looking at partitions within a space, there are a number of considerations fit-out companies must take into account. With high rent charges and space often at a premium, today’s clients are a lot more switched on to the efficient use of space and acoustic performance. In recent years, MorrCo has completed many office fit-outs using innovative ideas to combine these important values and create an individual space.
Changes in the way people work and advances in technology have led to a marked increase in the use of glazed partitions in recent years. This type of partition gives the appearance and feel of an open-plan office while offering a level of privacy when required.
Recently we worked with a client on an office located on the 40th of Tower 42 in London. The client wanted to make the most of the panoramic views over London, ensuring that the cellularised offices that had to be located adjacent to the external windows didn’t compromise the view to the entire office. The solution we chose was to use a single glazed partition system which created the cellular but also left the office open for everyone to enjoy the views.
On another job for an American investment bank, we used an alternative solution to create the illusion of space. The reception area was made to appear larger by creating the illusion of running the timber from the reception flooring under the glazing and into the meeting rooms. We then used mitred glazing integrated into joinery panels to cellularise the meeting room space. The joinery elements also concealed AV equipment for presentations.
TV company Thinkbox has taken the use of partitions to the extreme by using every inch of the walls within their reception to highlight and market their core business, creating an eye-catching display. This has kept the space modern and dynamic while also creating the environment which best describes their business.
